
1:1 Nutrition Services
See below some of the available 1:1 Nutrition Support Services are available with Access Ability Allied Health. If there is a service that isn't currently listed, book a discovery call to discuss how we can personalise our services to you.

Medicare
1:1 services through Medicare are available for individuals with chronic conditions who are referred by a general practitioner (GP) under the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan. Eligible individuals can receive up to five Medicare-subsidized sessions per calendar year, which can include a range of services such as dietary assessments, advice on nutritional management, and ongoing support to help manage their condition.

Child and Family
Child and family nutrition support services provide guidance and education on healthy eating habits for children and their families. These services are designed to promote optimal growth and development, prevent nutrition-related health issues, and establish lifelong healthy eating habits. Nutrition support for children and families may include individualized meal plans, guidance on age-appropriate nutrition, strategies for picky eaters, and tips for creating a healthy eating environment at home.

Private
For private referrals or private health cover, individuals can access dietitian services directly without the need for a GP referral. Depending on your private health insurance you may be eligible for rebates*. Private dietitian services offer personalized nutrition advice, meal planning, and cater to a wide range of dietary needs, including weight management, sports nutrition, and managing medical conditions like diabetes or food allergies.
*It's recommended to check with your insurance provider to understand your coverage and any out-of-pocket expenses.

Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation nutrition services focus on supporting individuals who are recovering from injury, illness, or surgery to optimize their nutritional status and overall health. Rehabilitation nutrition services may include assessments of nutritional needs, development of individualized meal plans, education on nutrition and hydration, and support for managing dietary restrictions or challenges. We may also provide guidance on supplements, assistive devices for eating, and strategies for managing side effects of treatment.

NDIS
Individuals can access dietitian services as part of their NDIS plan if it includes funding for Improved Daily Living or Improved Health and Wellbeing. Dietitian services under the NDIS aim to support individuals in achieving their health and nutrition goals. Referrals may be related to poor intake or fussy eating, enteral nutrition, malnutrition, muscle gain and strength improvement, restrictive practices, bowel concerns, dysphagia, mental health and more.

DVA
DVA (Department of Veterans' Affairs) nutrition services provide support for veterans and their families to manage health conditions, improve well-being, and promote healthy aging. DVA nutrition services cover a range of areas, including weight management, diabetes management, heart health, and gastrointestinal health.
DVA-funded providers work closely with veterans to develop personalized nutrition plans based on their specific health needs and goals. These plans may include dietary advice, meal planning, and education on healthy eating habits. DVA nutrition services also offer support for managing food allergies, intolerances, and other dietary restrictions.
